EIA Biofuels Capacity and Feedstock Update
The Energy Information Administration’s (EIA) September Monthly Biofuels Capacity and Feedstocks Update showed operable US biofuel capacity at 23.495 billion gallons, eight million gallons below the August report but 2.112 billion gallons abover September 2022. U.S. biofuel capacity pulled back from last month’s all-time high. The Petroleum Supply Monthly report, also released today, disclosed refinery and blender net inputs of renewable fuel to be 29 million barrels, 2.05 million barrels below August, and 17 thousand barrels below September 2022. Inputs of renewable fuel were 62 percent of capacity.
