Trading was very quiet today with the only change in the price guide coming from the California MBM market. For the Mo. River and Panhandle markets there continue to be indications as low as $200 FOB for ruminant MBM, but no volume has been confirmed at this level from the market.
Trading following the holiday break was lower for both ruminant and porcine MBM this week. The ruminant meat and bone meal (MBM) market was down 9.8 percent or $32.30/st compared to the prior week’s average for the Mo. River market. Porcine MBM FOB Mo. River fell to an average of $370, down 8.4 percent from the prior week’s average.
Bloodmeal prices were steady to higher with porcine flat with last week and the ruminant market FOB Mo. River up 2.3 percent. Prices have been to steady to higher since the start of November.
