The market was fairly quiet this week with few changes reported. Prices were marginally lower into the Asian markets this week. Australian values were unchanged and New Zealand trading was steady to lower, mirroring the import markets.
The MLA reported cattle slaughter at 120,887 for last week, down from the week prior but still 12.9 percent over 2022 levels. Slaughter in both New Zealand and Australia is widely expected to slow through the remainder of the month and for the first week of January on holiday downtime.
