Nov Soybean Crush Second Largest of All-Time, Oil Stocks Rise

The National Oilseed Processors Association (NOPA) reported November soybean crush at 189.038 million bushels. This was the second highest monthly crush total on record, trailing only the October 2023 crush of 189.774 million bushels.

The November crush topped the average trade assessment of 185.98 million bushels. Estimates for the crush ranged from 183.5 million to 190.4 million bushels.

The November crush was 0.4 percent below the October crush of 189.774 million bushels but 5.5 percent over the 179.184 million bushels crushed during November 2022.

Surging soybean oil demand from the biofuel sector, particularly renewable diesel, has created a wave of expansion in domestic crushing activity. The ADM/Marathon Oil Spiritwood JV, also known as Green Bison Soy Processing, began receiving soybeans in September and held a ribbon-cutting ceremony November 14 to celebrate the opening of the plant.
