The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reported 1.73 billion gallons of renewable fuel consumed during November. This was six percent below October but one percent over year ago levels. Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) credit generation fell 6.3 percent to 1.99 billion RINs, 2.4 percent above November 2022. Domestic renewable fuel production accounted for 93 percent of RIN generation and 95 percent of the fuel consumed.

In the D6 conventional renewable fuel category, ethanol blending slowed, falling five percent to 1.22 billion gallons in November. This was down from October’s yearly high of 1.29 billion gallons, and two percent below November 2022 consumption of 1.25 billion gallons. Renewable diesel is also blended within the D6 code and was noticeably absent for a second straight month.
