International Animal Proteins 21.12.2023

**Please note – The Jacobsen will not publish an International Animal Proteins bulletin on Thursday, December 28th. We will resume our normal publication schedule on Thursday, January 4th.

The international animal protein market was under pressure ahead of the two-fold holiday weeks in December. Meat and bonemeal exports out of Australia have been communicated as diminished heading into the tail end of 2023. This has led to price decreases on meat and bonemeal, 45 and 50 pro. Domestic values in Australia have decreased as a result, with an AU$750/mt low reported. Ovine meat and bonemeal continue to be highly unsettled with wider ranges reported for the week. Values outside the current range could not be confirmed as of press time.

Prices were lower into the Asian markets again this week. Exports for meat and bonemeal into China and Indonesia continue to be called sluggish on accounts of dropped interest.
