Distiller’s Corn Oil Prices at Multi-Month Low vs SBO

Distiller’s Corn Oil Prices at Multi-Month Low vs SBO

The animal fats market was mostly flat today with not much action reported, and the trading that did come through was done at steady levels. The exceptions were the used cooking oil market, which was down into the Northeast market on big volume and trading into the East for poultry fat and yellow grease.
Fat supply in parts of the South and East has tightened on seasonal slowdowns, which is pressuring prices higher. FOB values were steady out of the Mid-South and AL/GA markets today, but more than one source commented that the bottom end of the range is becoming harder to buy.
Distiller’s corn oil (DCO) traded steady out of the Mo. River market today and prices were broadly indicated in the “mid-40’s” on an FOB basis with some trading indicated in the “upper 40’s,” although there was no specific volume attached.
