Room for Optimism in Organic Feed Markets

Some organic traders are feeling optimistic about organic feed markets.  Overall economic conditions are seen as fundamental to growth demand for organic animal proteins. Having just negotiated a perilous episode of inflation – with its resulting demand-killing rate hikes – the near-term prospects are looking better at the outset of 2024 than in 2023.

In organic corn markets, we are much closer to a historical low than an historical high. In a theoretical range of $6 to $12/bu, there is room for optimism in organic corn markets.  Assuming supply does not move uncharacteristically, prospects for demand growth are good.
