Organic Corn Trading Activity Increases as Organic Soy Markets Idle

Organic corn continues to be the most active segment in organic feed currently.  New crop organic feed corn is contracting across the range of The Jacobsen’s Organic Corn – Midwest pricing.  Bids below $7.50 are common.

Organic soybeans, on the other hand, are finding fewer interested buyers.  One large grower told Fastmarkets today that there are fewer bids now than they can remember for new crop organic soybeans.  The only bid they have received is $19.50/bu. for organic soybeans meeting spec. Circumspect buyers are closely watching South American crop progress as well as geopolitical factors that may impact organic soybean imports
