European Organic Markets Show Signs of Recovery

The U.S. has achieved a remarkable economic comeback.  EU countries have faced considerably more headwinds, as noted in last week’s commentary.  The war in Ukraine has upset key sectors like energy, but it has also created problems for farmers in neighboring countries where Ukrainian farmers have been forced to market crops after the loss of Black Sea routes.

Polish farmers, especially, have been growing ever more impatient.  Ukraine needs access to ag markets, but current practices are not a win-win for the region. This only adds to current farmer frustration on the continent, where recent protests have upset German politics and, perhaps more notably, German traffic patterns.
