Soybean Meal Prices Slide to a 2-Year Low in Central Illinois

Although DDGs prices remained steady in most locations, there was a slight drop reported in the Michigan market. Market participants have expressed concerns about the market being heavy and anticipate some price relief on the DDG front as we approach March.

CME grain prices shifted higher across the board on Tuesday. March soymeal increased by $2.00/st and closed at $347.60/st. March soybeans increased by $0.0675 and settled at $11.79/bu. Furthermore, March corn futures rose $0.0225 to $4.18/bu, and March wheat increased by $0.2225 to $5.82/bu. Following a round of technical buying, corn and soybean prices showed modest gains. Wheat faced a double-digit increase, with market players noting that the movement was largely fueled by short covering by traders rather than any significant news.
