Wide Bid-Offer Levels Emerge in Animal Protein Markets

Wide Bid-Offer Levels Emerge in Animal Protein Markets

A push-pull undertone was witnessed on animal proteins for Tuesday, due to the persistent downward trend on soybean meal paired with lower slaughter numbers.

Bids and offers were heard in a wide range in the pet food grade poultry by-product meal market today. Sources have suggested that some buyers may have material contracted at levels currently below spot prices and as a result, nearby demand is lackluster. Lower poultry slaughter and export commitments may also be contributing to a slower spot market.

Porcine meat and bonemeal was steady to highter. A high of $425/st FOB Indiana could not be confirmed in bulk as of press time.
