Sluggish Trade Keeps Most Values Flat

Sluggish Trade Keeps Most Values Flat

Quiet tones kept values flat for Tuesday on animal proteins. Sources continue to indicate contract pricing for poultry by-products as below spot trades for the current session. This most likely persists due to lower poultry slaughter limiting spot trade, active export trade, and contracts based off of soybean meal pricing.

Range adjustments were noted on porcine and ruminant bloodmeal for the day. A high of $1250/st was indicated on IA/MO/NE porcine bloodmeal but could not be confirmed as of press time.

According to the March USDA Fats and Oils: Oilseed Crushing, Production, Consumption and Stocks data; production levels for January dropped on feathermeal, poultry-by, and meat and bonemeal from the prior month. Stock levels for January were varied for the three animal proteins.
