Wheat midd prices in the Minneapolis and Kansas City markets were higher on Wednesday April 10, while values in the Buffalo market remained steady. Market participants said that run times have been solid, and there is strong demand, pushing values higher.
CME grain prices were mixed on Wednesday. May wheat increased by $0.0075, closing at $5.58/bu while May soybeans dropped $0.0975, settling at $11.64/bu. In addition, May soymeal dropped $4.70 to $330.90/st, but May corn rose $0.03 to $4.34/bu. Ahead of Thursday’s WASDE report from the USDA and the latest Brazilian crop estimates by Conab, market players treaded carefully. There was a moderate increase in corn prices due to potential planting delays and spillover strength from wheat. However, stiff competition in export markets continue to pressure grains, causing soybeans to suffer losses today.
