Organic milk exports continue to rise

Organic fluid milk exports continue to rise with demand growing with key trading partners. February data show that milk exports were 116,554 liters, up 84% from the previous month and 103% from the previous year. Year-to-date exports through February were up 22% compared with the same time period last year.

Mexico and Taiwan continue to import the bulk of US organic fluid milk exports. The Mexican trade flow makes sense, but Taiwan’s reliance on US organic milk supply is a result of close political and trade ties rather than practicality. Consumer preference is also a factor.
