International Animal Proteins 18.04.2024

Trading was mixed in the international market for the week April 18. Market sources said there is varied interest on the export market for both porcine and ruminant meat and bonemeal. With the drop in Australia and New Zealand prices, exports have been lackluster.

Pet food demand on the US interior has been communicated from market sources as strong, given the sluggish demand at the start of 2024. Both meat and bonemeal and poultry by-product pet grade have remained at higher values due to the brisk pet food demand, even with pressure from lower soybean meal.

Bloodmeal, 80 Pro, delivered Australia was lower, at AU$1350-1420 per tonne. US interior prices were under pressure as well for the week, on accounts of diminished interest. A low of US1,090 and US$1,118 per tonne for US bloodmeal, ruminant, fob Missouri River and fob Texas Panhandle, individually, were reported for this week.
