Sloppy markets were reported for porcine and ruminant items at the close of week ending Friday April 19.
Wide ranges were witnessed on porcine bloodmeal (BM), with a low of $900 per short ton (st) and a high of $1250/st on IA/MO/NE. However, the majority of trading, both in terms of tonnage and buyers/sellers, was in the current printed price $1050-1150/st. With this significant drop throughout the week, the weekly average was at $1,197.50/st, a 5.82%, or $78/st, drop from last week’s average.
Ruminant BM fob Mo. River moved lower, down 11.32%, or $137 per short ton (st), on the weekly average.
