International animal fats and oils, April 25, 2024

Feedstock prices were broadly stable in Europe in the week to Thursday April 25 despite a price increase in the vegetable oil sector, while biofuels prices did not move much.

Trading for used cooking oil (UCO) was reported at $1,005 per tonne CIF Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Ghent (ARAG), while the domestic market was trading at €1,035 per tonne ex-works North-West Europe.

The FOB China market was also stable, with prices for container shipments reported at $880 per tonne.

In the vegetable oils market, prices for rapeseed oil (RSO) continued on an uptrend during the week amid low cargo availability and abnormally cold weather reported in Europe and the Black Sea, raising concerns about crop conditions.

Offers for May loading were heard at €1,000 per tonne FOB Dutch mill, up by €50 per tonne week on week, against bids at €965 per tonne, up by €20 per tonne week on week.
