Four cars of technical tallow traded lower on Wednesday May 1, down to 47 cents per lb Chicago basis.

Used cooking oil (UCO) and yellow grease traded lower on an FOB basis from the West Coast markets on Wednesday, but sources said demand for June is starting to pick up.

Trading into the Gulf was quiet again on Wednesday, but sources suggested that increased demand for June shipment to the West Coast market may be starting to bolster prices into the Gulf market.

US ethanol production was estimated at an average of 987,000 barrels per day for the week to Friday April 19, according to the US Energy Information Administration’s (EIA) Weekly Petroleum Status Report released on Wednesday. The estimate was up by 33,000 bpd from the week prior.
