Biofuel capacity, feedstock demand for vegetable oil up in March

EIA Biofuels Capacity and Feedstock Update
The Monthly Biofuels Capacity and Feedstocks Update, released by thue Energy Information Administration (EIA) on Friday May 31, showed that operable US Biofuel capacity and feedstock consumption increased during March.

Total capacity increased by 5 million gallons to 23.73 billion gallons, and biomass-based diesel feedstock demand for vegetable oils pivoted higher.

The Petroleum Supply Monthly report disclosed refinery and blender net inputs of renewable fuel to be 29.1 million barrels. This was 2.5 million barrels more than in February, and 290,000 barrels more than in March 2023. US inputs of renewable fuel were 62% of capacity.
