Trading for US animal proteins was steady to lower on Tuesday June 4, with no changes reported on poultry, meat and bonemeal products. Participants in the market have noted pressure on meat and bonemeal, for both porcine and ruminant products, though values remained rangebound for Tuesday.
Pressure on bloodmeal values continues to be noted, with lower soybean meal values. The only region to remain flat for the day was the porcine meat and bonemeal, fob, Mid-Atlantic.
Soybean meal was lower on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange on Monday June 3 and on Tuesday, helping to push the bloodmeal prices lower for Tuesday. Out front pressure has been indicated on bloodmeal due to the lower soybean meal, as well as other feed related items decreasing.
Fastmarkets assessed bloodmeal, porcine, fob Iowa/Missouri/Nebraska at $875-1,000 per short ton on Tuesday, down from Monday’s range of $960-1,100 per ton.
