Despite some reports of weak buying interest for animal fats amid slow biofuels sales in Europe, some trading for Category 3 fats with max 5% free fatty acids (FFA) was reported in a range of €930-960 ($1,012-1,045) per tonne FOB Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA), down slightly from the week before.

Prices for edible tallow and lard with max 1.5-2.0% FFA softened slightly to €1,020-1,030 per tonne DDP North-West Europe, while prices for poultry fats with max 2% FFA and 5-7% FFA were reported at €1,030 per tonne and €960 per tonne DDP respectively.

In terms of Category 1 and 2 animal fats, sources quoted max 30% FFA at €700 per tonne DDP and max 20% FFA at €750 per tonne.
