US animal protein prices show limited movement week on week

US prices for animal proteins were mostly flat in the week to Friday June 14 due to sluggish trading. The only products that showed any price movement were ruminant meat, bone meal and feathermeal. Market participants noted minimal changes in the Midwest and East Coast markets, but there has been a noticeable increase in interest and export inquiries for July.

Fastmarkets’ price assessment of feathermeal, fob US Carolinas averaged $476 per short ton in the week to Friday, down by 0.73% from the previous weekly average of $479.50 per ton.

Fastmarkets’ price assessment of feathermeal, fob Delmarva Peninsula averaged $465.50 per short ton in the week to Friday, down by 0.43% from the previous weekly average of $467.50 per ton.

Fastmarkets’ assessment of meat and bone meal, ruminant, fob Missouri River averaged $279 per short ton in the week to Friday, up by 0.36% week on week from an average of $277.50 per ton.
