Central Illinois soybean crush margin tops previous high

Chicago Mercantile Exchange grain prices were mixed on Monday June 24, with the July CME soybean futures contract rose by 14.75 cents per bushel to settle at $11.75 per bu.

The July soymeal futures contract increased by $11.00 per short ton to $372.80 per ton, while July corn fell by 1.50 cents per bu to $4.33 per bu.

Meanwhile, July wheat declined by 9 cents per bu to close at $5.52 per bu.

Grain prices varied to start the week, with market participants evaluating the recent crop damage caused by widespread flooding in the Northern Plains and upper Midwest.

Soybeans captured double-digit gains driven by a round of technical buying. However, ample supplies led to a slight decline in corn prices, and wheat prices dropped due to seasonal harvest pressure.
