The US Energy Information Administration’s (EIA) Petroleum Supply Monthly report for April, released on Friday June 28, showed that rail and barge shipments of renewable diesel (RD) and biodiesel were 2% lower compared with March.
There were 2.876 million barrels of RD and 224,000 barrels of biodiesel shipped to the country’s West Coast in April. Biodiesel shipments were down by 9% in April, following a 37% drop in March. RD shipments were down by 2% in April following an 8% climb in March.
Barge/tanker RD shipments from the Gulf Coast increased by 27% to 1.6 million barrels in April, while the amount of RD moved by rail in the region dropped by 24% to 724,000 barrels.
