US wheat export sales climb to 805,300 tonnes, above market expectations

Chicago Mercantile Exchange grain prices shifted higher across the board on Friday July 5.

The August soybean futures contract increased by 8.50 cents per bushel to settle at $11.66 per bu, and August soymeal jumped by $7.10 per short ton to $357.20 per ton.

Meanwhile, the September corn futures contract increased by 5 cents per bu to $4.10 per bu, and September wheat rose by 16.50 cents per bu to close at $5.90 per bu.

Weekly export sales, released July 5

Soybean
US soybean export sales for 2023/24 reached 228,400 tonnes in the week to June 27, down by 19% week on week and by 32% from the four-week average. Export sales for the 2024/25 crop season were 150,300 tonnes, resulting in total sales of 378,700 tonnes.
