US DCO prices jump on strength from soybean oil

Distillers’ corn oil (DCO) traded higher in the US on Monday July 8, boosted by a strong cash soybean oil market and last week’s run-up on the soybean oil futures market.

Trading was done as high as 50 cents per lb FOB Missouri River for August shipment, and bids were heard into the US Gulf at 51 cents per lb delivered, with offers heard at 53 cents per lb delivered.

Outside of the DCO market, trading was quiet to start the week.

Cattle slaughter finished last week at an estimated 522,000 head, down by 2.7% from the same week in 2023 and by 14.3% from the week prior.
