One way to describe the organic feed market is stuck. End users believe that prices will remain subdued, allowing them to purchase ingredients when needed. Farmers reminisce about the recent past, discussing organic soybean prices in the mid-$20s and corn prices above $9 per bushel.
The midpoint values published by The Jacobsen – Fastmarkets show Organic Corn – Midwest near $7.35 per bushel and Organic Soybeans – Midwest near $20.13. While these prices are depressed relative to the recent past, organic feed grain prices were even lower prior to the pandemic.
