US soymeal, wheat export sales plunge week on week, below estimates

Chicago Mercantile Exchange grain prices shifted higher across the board on Thursday July 11.

The August soybean futures contract increased by 3.75 cents per bushel to settle at $11.17 per bu, and August soymeal jumped by $3.20 per short ton to $342.40 per ton.

Meanwhile, the September corn futures contract increased by 4.50 cents per bu to $4.00 per bu, and September wheat rose by 9.75 cents per bu to close at $5.71 per bu.

Weekly export sales, released July 11

Soybean
US soybean export sales for 2023/24 reached 208,000 tonnes in the week to July 4, down by 9% week on week and by 40% from the four-week average. Export sales for the 2024/25 crop season were 191,300 tonnes, resulting in total sales of 399,300 tonnes.
