Wheat, soybean futures slide following July WASDE release

Most grain prices on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange fell on Friday July 12. The September wheat futures contract decreased by 20.50 cents per bushel, settling at $5.50 per bu, while September corn increased by 1.75 cents per bu, closing at $4.02 per bu.

Meanwhile, August soybean meal fell by $3.60 per short ton to $338.80 per ton, and August soybeans dropped by 12 cents per bu to $11.05 per bu.

July 2024 WASDE
The USDA’s July World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) report released on Friday has provided fresh estimates on wheat, corn and soybeans.

The US wheat outlook for 2024/25 showed an increase in supplies, domestic usage, exports and ending stocks.

US corn projections for 2024/25 indicated higher supplies with greater domestic usage and exports, while noting a minor drop in ending stocks.
