IA/MO/NE porcine bloodmeal prices up; other animal protein products down

US animal protein prices were mixed to lower in the week to Friday July 19.  Market sources continued to not price pressure from lower soybean meal values and diminished seasonal demand on most animal protein products.

Porcine bloodmeal prices, however, rose, with market sources reporting that active demand offset lower soybean meal prices and higher-than-expected pork slaughter for the pricing session.

Fastmarkets’ assessment of bloodmeal, porcine, fob Iowa/Missouri/Nebraska averaged $1,030 per short ton in the week to Friday, higher by 5.64% from the an average of $975 per ton the week before. This was up by 10.60%, or $98.75 per short ton, from the week to June 21, when prices were $931.25 per short ton.
