Fastmarkets continues to hear about issues related to storing or marketing last year’s organic wheat crop, as a new set of issues arise from the 2024 one. Last year’s bumper organic wheat crop is occupying valuable bin space, and producers and traders have varying levels of urgency to move it out of the way.
For some market participants, a glut of marginal quality wheat prompted them to market their wheat through conventional channels. The resulting diminished organic wheat supply is causing some concern on the part of merchandisers. Regional supply issues may have an outsized impact on some trade flows, but overall organic wheat supplies remain robust.
