US ethanol production down week on week; stocks rise to 9-week high

Most grain prices on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange rose on Wednesday July 24. The September wheat futures contract increased by 4.25 cents per bushel, settling at $5.47 per bu, but August soybeans dropped by 6.5 cents per bu, closing at $11.11 per bu.

Meanwhile, August soybean meal jumped by $0.70 per short ton to $343.40 per ton, and September corn rose by 1.25 cent per bu to $4.03 per bu.

Wheat and corn prices showed minor gains as market participants continued to monitor corn harvest progress in Brazil and winter wheat progress in the US Plains. Soybean prices dropped following expectations of lower demand after hitting a two-week high a day earlier.
