Movements in international animal proteins prices were mixed in the week to Thursday July 25.
Prices in New Zealand were reported to be steady to higher for the week, with one market source saying that prices rose due to a weaker New Zealand dollar (NZ$) against the US equivalent.
The exchange rate went to US$0.59 to NZ$1 on July 25, compared with US$0.61 to NZ$1 on June 25, according to exchange rate website Oanda.com.
New Zealand production was described by the same market source as exceptionally low due to the winter conditions.
Fastmarkets assessed the price of bloodmeal, 85 Pro, export, FCA New Zealand, at NZ$1,420-1,440 ($843-854) per tonne for the week to Thursday, up from NZ$1,400-1,420 per tonne on July 18.
