June animal by-product production, stocks
In June, production of feathermeal (FM), poultry by-product meal (PBPM), and meat meal, meat and bone meal and dry rendered tankage (MM/MBM/DRT) decreased, according to the USDA’s Fats and Oils: Oilseed Crushing, Production, Consumption and Stocks report released on Thursday.

Production of MM/MBM/DRT totaled 407.39 million lbs in June, down by 3.61% month on month and by 6.74% year on year.

Year-to-date June 2024 volume is currently at 2.72 billion lbs, down 43.36 million lbs, or 1.57% from 2023 for the respective time. This is due to year-on-year reductions in cattle production levels, which are currently down from 2023 by 1.60%.
