Used cooking oil (UCO) prices fell 1.50 cents per lb on the day to 45 cents per lb for material delivered into the US Gulf market on Tuesday August 6, even as some sources maintained a wait-and-see approach amid ongoing market uncertainty.
The Illinois UCO market also saw similar day-on-day declines, with prices assessed at 39 cents per lb, based on trades done at that level.
Meanwhile, the European UCO market remained quiet on Tuesday, with a lack of trading reported during the day.
“Financial market is correcting strongly; hopefully commodities will do as well,” a Europe-based trader told Fastmarkets, referring to a market crash on Monday August 5.
Distillers’ corn oil (DCO) prices were down on Tuesday, with trading reported into the US Gulf at 46.50-47.50 cents per lb delivered and lower out of the Indiana-Ohio market on an FOB basis.
