Trading in used cooking oil (UCO) was slow in Europe in the week ended Thursday August 22, with prices slipping to €980-990 ($1,091-1,102) per tonne on a DDP North-West Europe (NWE) basis, marking a €10-20 per tonne week-on-week decline.

Prices on a CIF Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Antwerp (ARA) basis for imported material also softened to $970-990 per tonne on the selling side, while bids were reported during the week at $950-960 per tonne CIF.

In terms of animal fats, prices for edible fats also softened, with edible tallow and lard quoted at €980-1,000 per tonne DDP NWE, while poultry fats with max 1-2% free fatty acids (FFA) were priced in a wider range of €980-1,020 per tonne DDP, with some selling ideas as high as €1,070 per tonne.

Category 3 fats with higher FFA levels were reported to be broadly stable at €930-970 per tonne for 5% FFA and €850-860 per tonne for 15% FFA on the DDP NWE basis.
