Heartwell Renewables looks forward to 2025 start-up of RD plant

Heartwell Renewables, a joint venture between affiliates of the Love’s Family of Companies and Cargill, is building a renewable diesel (RD) facility in Hastings, Nebraska. Nameplate capacity is projected to be 80 million gallons per year, according to a Heartwell press release.

“Heartwell Renewables continues to move forward with the construction process and will be commissioning and starting up in phases beginning in 2025,” a company spokesperson told Fastmarkets on Monday August 26.

The Heartwell venture will use a variety of feedstocks to produce renewable diesel. Primary feedstock sources will be “tallow, sourced from Cargill facilities in Nebraska, as well as other low-carbon feedstocks like distillers corn oil,” according to the company’s website.
