Wider price ranges and lighter volumes were reported in the US for both bloodmeal and meat and bonemeal (MBM) on Tuesday August 27, due to the upcoming extended Labor Day weekend.
Though the bulk of trade remained rangebound for the day, porcine MBM in Iowa was indicated as high as $380 per short ton.
A high of $350 per short ton was reported for ruminant MBM in the Missouri River region for light volumes. This kept the assessed price steady for the day at $250-310 per short ton.
Fastmarkets assessed meat and bonemeal, porcine, fob Indiana at $300-380 per short ton on Tuesday, widening from $310-350 per ton on Monday August 26.
Fastmarkets assessed bloodmeal, porcine, fob IA/MO/NE at $1,025-1,100 per short ton on Tuesday, widening upward from $1,025-1,090 per ton on Monday. A high of $1,200 per ton was reported in the region but could not be confirmed as of press time.
