US inedible meatmeal exports up year on year in July; feathermeal down

US animal protein prices were mostly steady on Thursday September 5, with market participants indicating light traded volumes for most products. Market sources said they were focusing on catching up on production and logistics following the Labor Day holiday weekend.

Prices for bloodmeal, Texas Panhandle widened up, being the exception in an otherwise steady market and reaching as high as $1,045 per short ton on both truck and railcar on Thursday, more in line with prices on Tuesday September 3.

Fastmarkets assessed ruminant bloodmeal, Texas Panhandle at $925-1,045 per short ton on Thursday, widening upward by $45 per ton from $925-1,000 per ton on Wednesday September 4.
