International animal proteins, September 5, 2024

Prices in the international animal proteins market were mostly flat in the week to Thursday September 5. The only significant change was in the New Zealand bloodmeal and Southeast Asia feathermeal markets, which were under price pressure.

Fastmarkets assessed the price of bloodmeal, 85 Pro, delivered New Zealand at NZ$1,340-1,370 ($831-849) per tonne on Thursday, down from NZ$1,390-1,410 per tonne on August 29.

Fastmarkets assessed feathermeal, 80 Pro, US export cfr Southeast Asia at $580-610 per tonne on Thursday, down from $600-640 per tonne on August 29.

Meat and Livestock Australia reported cattle slaughter at 140,990 head in the week to Friday August 30, down by 120 head week on week but higher by 13,653 head year on year.
