Central Illinois soybean, soymeal prices continue to rise week on week

The soybean crush margin in Central Illinois dropped by 3.5% week on week and was down by 20.5% year on year in the week to Friday September 6, according to the National Weekly Grain Co-Products Report released by the USDA on Monday September 9.

In the week to Friday, soybean meal prices increased to $353.43 per short ton, up by 2.7% from $344 per ton the week before but down by 17.1% year on year.

Soybean prices jumped to $10.44 per bushel, up by 2.3% week on week from $10.21 per bu but down by 25.8% from the previous year.

The price of soybean oil fell to 43.19 cents per lb, down by 1.8% from 43.97 cents per lb week on week and down by 34.5% year on year.

The increase for soybean and soybean meal prices led to a crush margin of $2.87 per bu, up by 11 cents per bu from the prior six-week average of $2.76 per bu.
