Lackluster trade volume keeps most animal proteins flat

A quiet tone was noted by most market sources in the US animal proteins market for the week to Friday September 13. The only price adjustments were on bloodmeal, both porcine and ruminant, in the Missouri River market.

Pressure was noted in the Missouri River porcine and ruminant bloodmeal markets for several participants, while others were steady for the week due to reports of mixed inventory levels.

Prices under the posted ranges were heard in the bloodmeal markets for the week, but large volume trades could not be confirmed.

The ruminant bloodmeal, Missouri River, weekly average was at $975 per short ton, down 2.50% from the previous week.

Porcine bloodmeal, Missouri River was at $1,018.50 per ton for the weekly average, down 4.14% from the prior week, when the weekly average was at $1,062.50 per ton.
