The US fats markets began the week relatively quiet on Monday September 16, with no significant changes outside of the US Gulf Coast.
In the used cooking oil (UCO) market, material delivered to the Gulf was assessed in a narrower range of 44.75-45.00 cents per lb, although bids for sizable volumes were heard slightly higher.
Meanwhile, yellow grease delivered to the Gulf region was assessed higher, at 42.75-43.00 cents per lb.
In contrast, Gulf tallow prices moved in the opposite direction, slipping to 45.00 cents per lb delivered, down by 1.50 cents per lb on the day.
In the European markets, prices for UCO were quoted in a wide range, with some trades reported at around €940 ($1,041) per tonne DDP North-West Europe, well below trades at €985 per tonne DDP reported the previous week.
At the same time, some offers were heard at as high as over €1,000 per tonne DDP.
