Central Illinois soybean, soymeal, soyoil prices drop week on week

The soybean crush margin in Central Illinois dropped by 1.5% week on week and was down by 22.2% year on year in the week to Friday September 13, according to the National Weekly Grain Co-Products Report released by the USDA on Monday September 16.

In the week to Friday, soybean meal prices decreased to $349.88 per short ton, down by 1% from $353.43 per ton the week before and by 15.1% year on year.

Soybean prices dropped to $10.24 per bushel, down by 1.9% week on week from $10.44 per bu and by 25.8% from the previous year.

The price of soybean oil fell to 41.83 cents per lb, down by 3.2% week on week from 43.19 cents per lb and down by 37.2% year on year.

The decrease for soybean, soybean oil and soybean meal prices led to a crush margin of $2.83 per bu, up by 3 cents per bu from the prior six-week average of $2.80 per bu.
