Equipment failure at Neste’s Singapore facility shuts down RD production for US market

Neste Singapore’s first production line, which meets renewable diesel requirements set for the US market, encountered unforeseen equipment failure, the company said in a statement on Tuesday October 22 released to Fastmarkets.

The equipment failure occurred following the facility’s third-quarter planned maintenance shutdown and related start-up in October.

“Repair work is underway, and US customers have been notified of the impact to their deliveries for the remainder of 2024,” a Neste spokesperson said.

Neste’s renewable diesel production for locations other than the US is not impacted by the first line shut down in Singapore, according to Neste.

Neste continues to produce renewable diesel at its renewable’s refineries in Finland, the Netherlands, and via their joint operation with Marathon Oil at the Martinez Renewables facility in California.
