US pasture, range conditions decline further in October

Limited trade was reported on the US animal proteins market on Thursday October 31. Reported trades were within the previously assessed price ranges.

Pasture, range conditions
The national pasture and range conditions worsened in the week to Sunday October 27 compared with the previous week and last year, according to the USDA’s most recent crop progress report released on Monday October 28.

The share of areas in good-to-excellent conditions fell by 16 percentage points week on week, while the share of areas in poor-to-very-poor conditions increased.

Areas with poor and very poor ratings were at 51% in the week to Sunday, up by 14 percentage points compared with the corresponding week last year.

Areas in good and excellent conditions accounted for 21% of the total, down by 16 percentage points year on year.
