US weekly ethanol production hits 3-month high; stocks rebound

Weekly average ethanol production in the US was 1.105 million barrels per day in the week to Friday November 1, up by 23,000 bpd from a week earlier and up by 6.1% year on year, according to reports by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) on Wednesday November 6.

Ethanol stocks were reported at 22.02 million barrels, up by 249,000 barrels week on week and up by 4.9% year on year.

Demand for corn increased by 2.1% from the previous week and up by 6.1% year on year. Approximately 16.37 million bushels of corn per day were used for ethanol production.

Livestock feed production totaled 118,167 tonnes in the week to November 1. Distillers’ dried grain (DDG) production accounted for 105,094 tonnes, with the remaining amount consisting of 11,030 tonnes of corn gluten feed and 2,043 tonnes of corn gluten meal.
