US weekly corn, soymeal export sales jump; corn above estimates

Corn
US corn sales for 2024/25 were reported at 2.76 million tonnes in the week to October 31, up by 18% from the previous week and from the prior four-week average, and above the USDA’s expected range of 1.7 million-2.5 million tonnes, USDA data showed on Thursday November 7.

Much of the increase came from Mexico (1,395,300 tonnes), unknown destinations (673,500 tonnes), Japan (296,200 tonnes), Colombia (155,200 tonnes) and Portugal (87,900 tonnes). The USDA groups undisclosed destinations under the umbrella term “unknown.”

These gains were partly offset by reductions for Ireland (20,000 tonnes) and Nicaragua (4,500 tonnes).

Export sales for the 2025/26 crop season totaled 65,500 tonnes, primarily for Mexico. The accumulated export commitments reached 166% of the USDA forecast.

Exports of 917,600 tonnes were up by 17% from the previous week and by 10% from the prior four-week average.
