Vietnam leading importer of US animal proteins

Prices for meat and bone meal into Asian markets were unchanged this week, and prices were mostly steady in the US and Australian markets.

In other news, US animal protein export data was released by the USDA, showing a drop in meat meal exports and an increase in feathermeal exports relative to the prior month.

September meat meal exports were estimated by the USDA at 81,154 tonnes for September, down by 5,979 tonnes from August.

Vietnam remained the largest buyer by volume, importing 20,972 tonnes in September and 197,898 tonnes for the year.
